Hello, I am looking to upgrade my memory and am unsure as to what speed memory my motherboard and CPU will handle. I am running a Biostar A880GZ Socket AM3+ motherboard, with a AMD Athlon II x4 645 CPU. The motherboard specifications read "Memory standard DDR3-1066,1333,1600(O.C),1866(O.C)". I am assuming the O.C stands for overclocked, but this motherboard is not capable of overclocking this CPU, due to the lack of ability to change multiplier. So would for instance, G. Skill Ripjaws X Series, 8GB, DDR3-1866 run in my system? I dont care if it underclocks due to the CPU because I wish to upgrade to an FX 8 core soon anyway. Just want to make sure it will run with my current setup while I wait for the FX. Thanks in advance, hope to resolve this!

Thats what I was thinking because the 1866 is only $4 more than the 1600 right now, as long as the board will auto underclock it, it should be fine. Thanks for the quick reply!

Additional question, with my AMD Athlon II x4 645 CPU, what speed is this G. Skill Ripjaws X DDR3-1866 going to run? Having a hard time finding the maximum memory speed allowed by my CPU. Thanks

I am running DDR3-1333 now and it recognizes as 1333mhz. Why cant the Ripjaws clock down to DDR3-1600? The board can handle 1600 and 1866 OC, so is it the CPU that can only handle 1333mhz?
