[SOLVED] Will this ram work on this board?

Hello guys. I found a guy who is selling his Ram and cpu because his motherboard was failing and he decided to go to ddr4. I want to buy his ram which is 2x8gb ddr3 1600 mhz cl9 Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb. The id is CMY16GX3M2A11600C9R. Will this work on my msi b85m g43? I looked at the compatible ram and it only lists the corsair vengeance cl10 standard version. Will i have trouble?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work with your motherboard.

For the record, this is the RAM ID: CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R (you had an extra "1").

Sorry my bad. Its not on the compatibility list. At least this specific id isnt. Though it does mention compatibility with vengeance series but only the non pro ones. Tl-dr i shouldnt worry i guess?

No. I wouldn't worry. Same specs as what is on the Memory QVL and obviously, they cannot test EVERY RAM kit on the market.

One last question. How likely is a motherboard that causes restarts, bsod and reset to damage the ram and cpu?

The only reason a motherboard could cause damage would be if it were shorting out somewhere. BIOS incompatibility and driver errors (reasons for restarts/BSODs) are not going to damage any other components.
