Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138366
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231689

The RAM is DDR3 2133 and the motherboard's memory standard says "DDR3 2400(OC)/2133(OC)/1866/1600/1333/1066/800"

Now my concern is that it says 2133(OC) does that mean it won't support the RAM i want since it is natively 2133 instead of that speed when OC'ed??

Thanks for any help, I get my money tomorrow so I hope that this works.

If it means anything, this is for an A10 6800k build

Update: I have been reading on the ram and it says "Compatible with Intel LGA1155 and LGA1150 platforms" does that mean that it won't work with the AMD FM2 in this build?

2133 and 2400 is supported but overclocking is required, meaning you would have to oc to use that speed.
but it does not mean that the ram won't work. memory modules can run slower than their rated speed, so that ram can run @ below 2133 (1866, 1600, etc)

I am not sure how to do that, would you recommend just getting slower RAM?

im not an expert with AMD, but i think the APU is dependent on the speed of the ram. So with that, i would suggest that you get a fast ram just like what you have. But with regards to gaming, i would still suggest a dedicated GPU but that is another matter.
but then again, it might (again not familiar with amd) require an OC? you can do some more research maybe?

lets wait for some more responses just to be better informed

yeah, im not too familiar with OC'ing RAM. I might just go with an 1866 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231538 This one looks promising. But i know that the A10 relies on RAM so that is why i was thinking about the 2133 one. (this is actually my friends build, i am just helping him with the parts). Something else that is worrying me is that the RAM for the link i posted just now says compatible with intel MB. does that mean it wont work at all with my AMD FM2??

The BIOS is not UEFI, if that is what you mean by "new" boards. And of course i have worked in a BIOS, this is just my friends build and i would rather be safe than sorry.

it supports the 6800k so it shouldn't be that old, should it?
