It's really the game that causes the drops. I would switch to a single 770 or 280x rather than two 7870s. It will be cooler solution.

dont get a 7870 xfire, get a single r9 280x, with the mantle api on bf4, the game will play very well.

plus they're finally wanting to change it to use more cores on cpu.

Hits 70 every now and then. DayZ is normally the only thing that brings it that high. Standalone is the only thing that pushes it atm.

That is crazy low. The 770 at 100% load is safe to 95c. Most people's generally run between 70-80c under normal gaming load, which is perfectly fine.

that's really low temp for u gpu, i cheaped out on my case as well, cause i got it free.
do you run just 1gpu or two?
