Will this rig run games on ultra or maxed out ??

CPU : Core i5 4670
MOBO : Asus H87M-PRO
RAM : 8GB RipJaws 1600MHz
GPU : GTX 750 ti
PSU : Seasonic M12II-520 520W 80PLUS


I could go for a 4670k, Z87 board and R9-270X, but the PSU will be demoted to a lower brand,
Should I go with that ?

games I play : Dead Space 3, BF4, Crysis 3, Watch_Dogs, Far Cry 3 and many high end games.

I think this rig can run all games ultra because of my resolution.

my resolution is : 1024 x 768 VGA monitor (yea very very low)

Keep the PSU or use an Antec HCG 520-M - also made by Seasonic. 750Ti and R9 270 or 270X are these days near the bottom of available GPUs. A lot of games will play at Ultra on 1024x768. But maybe not the more demanding games.

It's your choice if you want to overclock the CPU. It won't get you 10 FPS more, but may still help.

I want to play on higher res, maybe 1080p, but I don't have the money yet. since I am getting this GPU I think I am stuck on the res because I know higher res like 1080p is going to be a hard time with this GPU.

OR

I could get a GTX 770 and a FX 6300 and upgrade later for a 1080p, hows that sound ?

but I think games will bottleneck the CPU. specially watch_dogs

For 1080p gaming, the GTX 660 or R9 270x will run every game at high-ultra settings at 30+ FPS . The FX series CPUs are meant for over clocking though 😛 but they still offer slight higher gaming performance than Intel's counterparts, at a lower cost

Anything better or in the same league as the i5-3470 shouldn't bottleneck.

and what do you mean "bottom of available" ?

aint 270X fourth of AMD's good GPU

how about going with the FX 6300 and GTX 770 and upgrading in the future for a 1080p ? OR not upgrade at all ? wont that be a total kick ass ? (or a total waste of money ? )

get a FX 8320 and a GTX 760 ? what do you say ?

I am just worry that single threaded games and apps run worst at this CPU.
I even think my Pentium g620 run good ? LOL.

Since you're tight on budget , then the FX-8320 would be good enough, giving you the option of doing some over clocking in future. Don't worry about single threaded stuff. They won't suffer that much.

So Fx-8320 / i5-3470 + R9 270x/ GTX 660 + 1080p monitor would be my recommendation

Or you can try Tom's hardware 's i3-4130 + GTX 770 combo. I was shocked to see them pair those 2, but apparently, the i3-4130 does well in regular FPS but not so much in MMOs

WOW THX, I need to reset my build.

can you prefer me a 730$ gaming build? I got the casing no need for that and the HDD (gonna use my current one) and optical drive.

they said you need a good CPU if you have a lower resolution to push the GPU to make that resolution ?
