Heya all,

I've had a PC built a while ago (6 years). And definitely need a new one! I am a gamer. Mostly MMO's (aion, gw2, BF3, world of darkness - if it ever comes out), and occasionally good solo games, i.e. AC3, etc..

I will use my old case, fan, and power supply (700w) which are top end. I just need your opinion on the following components:

CPU: Core i7 4770k(1150/3.5GHz/8MB)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z87X-OC(1150/Z87/DDR3)
RAM: DDR3 8GB (2X4) 1600MHz Vengeance C8
GPU: MSI GTX 760 TF 2GD5/OC 2GB

Will this run smoothly? Will I be able to play the games that are currently out at max settings around 50-60FPS?

Apologies if my questions are noobish, I am extremely unknowledgeable about hardware.

Many thanks to anyone who replies! 😀

Well you could go with a cheaper mobo and spend more money on the GPU, also newegg has a great deal right now on HD7950's (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-131-458) wich should perform better than a GTX760

Thanks for your answers! (I'm not in the US, so prices are much different 😛)

So what about these replacements:

MOBO: MSI-Z87-G45 gaming
GPU: Sapphire-VGA PCI x 7950 Vapor-X 3GB

I have no idea about compatibility.

Without the case, fans, power supply, just those 4 parts, i'm already at 1050 Euros, which is about 1400USD. Just for your reference.

Agree get the i5 4670K instead for gaming it would be all you would need. Everyone seems to automatically choose the i7 for gaming builds when it is not really need. And the money saved can go for a better GPU were for gaming it is needed.

Plus if you do not intend to overclock go for the none K version of the CPU and a H87 based board would save you even more for a better GPU and what ever else you might need for your build.

The EXTRA 100 euros for the 4770k is TOTTALY worth it no matter what everyone says, threads are increasingly becoming more and more important, i got one and dont regret a single day.

The best investment in a PC is the processor, the better the processor the longer you can use your PC.

Everyone told me long time ago, go dual core dont buy quad core, my friends PC was in the trash mine still runs gw2 and btf3.... Just saying, atleast consider.

See my post footnote thingy for my build, i actually do get 100% cpu usage but hey i develope stuff and edit allot.

Thanks for your answer mate!

So the graphics card you have, is the same I posted above as a replacement, you'd say its a good one? Or should i invest 50-100 euros more in another model?

fair enough. but rather put the money away instead of getting the i7, and you can sli at a later stage

What do you think about PALIT? as a brand.

They have the 770 chipset in this model:
