Hello, I am looking at getting a Mac Pro. I have found on that someone is getting rid of. It is a Mac Pro 1,1 but has been recently upgraded. I know the 5,1 is the most recent befor the design change. Are the upgrades on it worth it? I am sure I may have to upgrade the Video card depending on its specs.
Mac Pro 1,1 Runnig El Capitan
Dual Upgraded INtel Xeon Quad Core X5365
8 Cores @ 3.0Ghz each
32GB Memory
1 3TB HDD
1 160GB SSD with El Capitan and partition for Yosemite
Airport/Bluetooth
Upgraded Video Card
$550

You should know a little more regarding the Video card onboard that unit as there are a lot of things that have been upgraded so much so is the identification of parts necessary that there is reasonable doubt the machine may not have everything it's advertised to have at that advertised price point.

In fact if you could get down to:
Ram specs(make and model)
HDD and SSD make and model and (if possible) it's age/usage
Video card as well as the motherboard

You could run CPU-Z on the machine and take screen shots of pretty much any tab and drop menu listings. You can post your findings here for us to give you a second opinion.

If we were to go along with what you've provided above then I'd say it'd be a killer of a video...

If we were to go along with what you've provided above then I'd say it'd be a killer of a video editing and production duties machine. In fact you could class it as a workstation machine and given the dual physical processors onboard alongside the CPU's it's coming with you'll be in for a treat performance wise. I own a Q9550 E0 Yorkfield processor and it's yet cutting my work loads though my gaming sessions have been something to ask for while the X5365 is loosely based off the Yorkfield Core 2 Quad's but a step up.

If the deal is true, go for it!
