Hi,

So i'm building a pc, and i have an asus h81m-a mobo.

To my shock, the box did not included a sata cable.

I search in my house and i found nd old sata cable. I think my brother bought it 2 years ago.

Here's a picture i found on the internet,

Will it work both with my mother and my hdd?

Mobo: asus h81m-a, it has sata 3 and sata 6 connectors

hdd: wd 1tb wd10ezex

thanks in advance

Most cables, even older pre-SATA 6Mpbs, are adequate to do the job even if not "certified." As long as the cable that you have is not damaged I would use it. You can always run some large sequential file transfer tests with any number of freeware programs to insure that you are getting what the drive should do.

But should I plug it to the sata 3 or to the sata 6?

So, do i connect it to the yellow port and i should work?

I'm planning on buying a new sata cable this monday, but i want to instal the os now.
