i just ordered some crucial pc 6400 ddr ram and im wondering if it will help out the bottleneckage on my 8800gts.currently i have 1 gig of very low like pc3200 ddr 2 ram with pentium D.so will that ram help out my horrible fps im getting with 8800gts?

well i got a pentium D 820 witch i think is cause of bottleneck and a 680i motherboard witch im goin to overclock my cpu on but im waiting for my cpu cooler. so would u say the cpu is why i cant run games on high?

You'll notice the difference from the extra 1gb as uberman said, but depending on how slow your old DDR2 was it might not make a huge difference, if your CPU only has an 800mhz FSB then PC3200 would have just done the job.

PD820's aren't that bad, and with an 8800GTS it should play games pretty damn well, definitely not horribly.

Is your PSU powerful enough?? Maybe that's what's holding your 8800GTS back....

600 watts with 38 amps i think its power ful enough my friend can play half life 2 maxed out on his card and i cant even touch maxed out on mine i get like 20fps if that maxed out playing at 1280x1024

Mmk well make sure the all the power connectors for the card are plugged in securely then update your drivers. Check for spyware and adware like uberman said.

Also download and run 3DMark'06 and see if your getting a weak score in that.

well i just installed vista so i doubt theres spyware and im using protection. my friend is also running vista ill dl 3d mark and post scores.and all my drivers are updated
