Will this SSD have any issues with my motherboard?

Hello. I am interested in purchasing a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, but I'm using an MS-7778 board which initially came with my old HP Pavilion 1539. I'm afraid that I'll run into an issue once I transfer all of my HDD data to the new SSD because it's an OEM board. Will I run into trouble? Thanks.

I've been told before that if I were to change my OS to a clean OS on my current HDD it might give me errors because the OEM board would reject it. Storage and motherboards certainly aren't my expertise so I was afraid I might run into something similar, though I guess if it's the same OS with just a different drive, the motherboard wouldn't know the difference.

Yes, Samsung provides a utility to migrate everything from your old drive to a new Samsung SSD.
Is that what you are planning on doing?

Yes, I was thinking I could install the software, install the new drive, transfer the data from the HDD to the SSD and be done with it.

How much is the used space on the current HDD? With that size SSD, it won't work if over 450GB or so.

It's a 1TB HDD but I'm only using about 170-180GB.
