My plan is if need be I can upgrade the cpu to newer athlons as time goes buy and the website says it is comptable but might need a bios upgradePCP is throwing some compatibility flags of it's own.
Would check the motherboard to be sure it is compatible with that Athlon without needing a BIOS update.
To be fair, I tried one of these Athlons for a file server. They are VERY anemic and I wouldn't suggest trying to utilize one for "future proof" work use over that period.
IDK what the landscape for refurbished office PC is in your area, but would suggest that a used Dell or HP enterprise level machine would be a great bet. It is not uncommon to be able to find 4th gen i5 based systems for ~$100 here. Budget an SSD and perhaps some memory if you don't buy it with. Should serve you well for several years to come.
Plus some reviews on Newegg are saying it did work out of the boxMy plan is if need be I can upgrade the cpu to newer athlons as time goes buy and the website says it is comptable but might need a bios upgrade
Can even drop the CPU cooler, for only a 30 pound increase. And, in reality, can drop the windows key as well to save 86 on both builds.@helper800 , for 70 extra pounds that is a solid build. Well done.
This is a much smaller case. What are the dimensions you are trying to fit the computer into?Limited space need the case size
