Ok will the lights work rgb lights at least turn on even dim so i can assign the colour modes and then connected them normally using molex

It's a 5V light strip so it will have full brightness.

Most 12V fans I have tried to run on 5V cannot start on their own and struggle to keep running. You need 6-7V for them to self-start reliably.

I'm also under the impression 5V is not enough to start a 12V motor. 3-pin fans stop spinning long before you get near the minimum of whatever range of control you can use. In my experience the cut-off was typically 50%, though I don't know what the voltage/% relationship is.

All my 12V fans run fine with 5V power supply. I just made a video using the heaviest 12cm fan that I have. The fan is rated 0.2A on 12V, but on 5V it only takes 0.07A which is much less than I thought.
