Will this work and which cable should i use?

Im getting a 144hz monitor with freesync but i have a nvidia graphics card. First question, since i have a nvidia graphics card, will it work with freesync. Im guessing not. Last question, which cable should i use to plug my monitor into my pc. One of my friends said i should use display port. Is he right? If he isnt then please let me know what cable is best for this monitor. Thanks!

The monitor will work but you won't be able to use FreeSync. DisplayPort is better than HDMI because it supports faster frame rates.
