Sorry in advance if this is confusing, but I will try my best to explain my situation.
So I want to completely wipe my HDD so i can install Kali Linux on it. I currently have Windows 8.1 installed on it. So once I completely get rid of Windows 8.1 can I reinstall it (Whenever I want on any machine) using the same product key? I do not have the Windows Installation Disc because windows came pre-installed on my laptop but I have the product key.
I got my product key by opening up powershell and typing this in:
" (Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey "
and it gave me the product key.
So since i dont have installation disc can I create my own installation media on a usb as seen here? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8
and once I do use my installation tool.... if i input the product key that I got off of powershell than I should have windows 8.1 installed?
Sorry if this is very confusing.
