ok so am building my own pc and was planning on getting the sandy bridge i5 2500 or 2400, the Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 Socket 1155 mother board and
Kingston T1 HyperX 8GB kit(2X4GB)Tall Heatsink 1600Mhz CL9 XMP Non-ECC

in new to this whole building a computer thing and this is my first build but on the i5 it only says DDR3-1066/1333 so am i waisting my money buying the 1600? or will it mess something up if i put it in? thanks

No, you are not wasting your money. However, if you're not going with the k edition then you don't have to go with a z68. I would get the i5-2500k for an extra $10 and go with either p66 or z68 to overclock it. Some motherboard doesn't read 1600mhz unless you overclock.
