Will this work or will it bottleneck? r9 290 question.

my current specs are:
i5 2500k 3.3ghz
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 570

Would replacing the 570 with a r9 290 be out of the question or will i need to upgrade my other components? the main reason for my upgrade is to play bf4 at max settings.

yes you can. the new card will draw slightly more power than the old one. and it is about 8mm longer.
i would suggest to wait a little longer for aftermarket coolers.

^Yep, the 290 runs at 90+ degrees celcius under load right now so waiting for a version with a non reference cooling design would be a good choice. The 570 is about as powerful as a 660 so it should last you long enough until those come out.
