Hello! I want to build a budget PC that can run simple PC games like Counter Strike Source and Call of Duty 4. Will setup work together? If so, would you think it could run those games?

I've already kind of have a plan. Tell me what you think! AMD Athlon X2 Regon 3.2 Dual Core, SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3, 4 GB Ram, 500 GB HDD. Should I give you specifics or does this look good?

Like 300 at most, I dont want anything super special. I've never built a pc before and I think starting small would be great to work on and upgrade. And way better than buying a company built computer.

I tried to keep it as low as I possibly could. I didn't include a HDD but reusing one would save around 50 bucks. Case is subjective. GPU... don't ask, just grab it. Its the best low end price/performance in its class.

mouse has put together a pretty good low-end build for you.

To answer your original question and to dispel any thoughts you might have about using your original HDD. It will not work with the old motherboard and it will not work with the new mobo that mouse picked out. It has a IDE connection and you will need a SATA connection.

Trust me it is not a good idea to throw together the cheapest parts when building a computer. You will not have a good experience putting things together and you will not like the end results.

And I agree, don't get the absolute cheapest. If you do you are better off just salvaging parts from the trash/junkyard/ask for broken pcs.

Though my build is still very viable for gaming. Certainly blows the previous builds out of the water
