Hi, I got an i5 4460 and a gtx msi 2 gb 960.
Will a 450W powersupply provide enough power for these two? If yes will it last a month or two?
I obviously don't want my build to explode and am going to buy a corsair PSU in a month at max.
Gonna go for the SV corsair 550, will that be enough or shud i go for sv 650 instead

Solution
nope the corsair vs series are junk
thats why i asked you again to be sure

get seasonic/evga b2-gs-g2-gq series / corsair rmx=rmi-ax-hx series / superflower etc..
assuming a good quality power supply no problem.
a lower quality power supply you will want to make sure all the wattage is not on the 3.3v or 5V rails.
most of the Amperage should be on the 12V rail.
look at the label on the power supply, if the 12V rail(s*) have more than 20A you should be fine

*some power supplies have 2 12Vrails, if yours does combine the total amperage of both rails for a total

Im sorry for the misunderstanding.

Just because the total rated power of your components equal ### watt PSU, Check closely at supplied AMPERE, PFC, tested ripples from online reviews, 550 W will run your system, a 650 W or higher with good review is a wise decision.
