i was thinking about upgrading to a i7 8700 and rtx 2060 and wanted to know if i could still use my 500w power supply or should i upgrade to a 600w

all depends on what brand your PSU is
But you are going to be upgrading to a cpu that's not made anymore
also 650W is normally what you need

You need at least a good quality 550W>
