Guys i have an Hp Compaq 6200 sff pc that has

Intel Pentium G620
240w PSU
4gb RAM
Radeon hd 5450

I want to upgrade to these components

Intel core i5-2400
MSI GTX 1050 TI LOW PROFILE
8GB ddr3 Ram

Will i have any psu issues as loads have people said that the gtx 1050 ti can run on PSU's lower than 300 watts?

It could be just the PSU if you are lucky. If not you could fry the other components as well. And your pc uses a non-standard PSU. Standard ATX PSUs won't fit. You will have to source a unit from the internet that has the same form factor. Or you could just get a different case. If you aren't concerned about materials and windowed side panels you could get one for under 30$.

Nvidia advises at least a 300w power supply. If you can find one with 300w+ and at least 85% efficiency that fits into your case then you can go with that. Otherwise you will have to get a new case too.

However I have seen many people use 240watt psu with 1050 ti and they had no problems, or I could downgrade to an i3-2120 that has hyperthreading. I want to keep my psu the same as I want to stay on a tight budget.

You could most likely get by. The chances of your system frying are low but still there. It's ultimately up to you. I would advice getting another PSU.

That's on them. This is about you and your money. You are being cautioned against what could be an insufficient power supply in your next setup. Seeing that it's a prebuilt, I have doubts about its quality. If you insist on keeping that particular unit, you can, but be aware, if something goes wrong, you could be looking at spending more than initially intended.

As i said it might work. I had a friend who was able to run a gtx 570 on a crappy 500w power supply for years. I tried the same but my psu broke on the 2nd day. Thankfully nothing outside of the psu broke. OEM PSUs tend to be crappy so there is that. I advise you to get a new PSU. But as I said the possibility of something bad happening is low, but still there.

Worst case scenario, the psu can potentially take the entire system down with it. It's basically the heart of said system, supplying 'blood'(i.e., voltage) to all your components.

The psu you have is custom made for your case. If you decide to get a new case, just get any bronze certified psu from a reputable brand like corsair, evga, seasonic, etc..

I think i have an idea, i think i will buy the GT 1030 as it has a very low power consumption and will get decent fps with the i5-2400 what do you think?

Also another question if i did pair the i5-2400 with the GT 1030 would i be able to record games for youtube in HD?
