Do dell studio xps 8000 and Dell optiplex 790 DT use the same memory. I;ve checked all over the web and from what I've gathered there close, but I figured if anyone would know for sure it would be you folks. Thanks for any and all help!!!! I have a busted xps 8000 so maybe I can at least use the memory out of it.

Both use DDR3. So yes - it's the same type of ram.
