Sorry I am not up to date on the latest mother boards. I just purchased the Core 2 duo E6750 and need a board that will work well with it. Thanks for the help I will look at those.

Well, some Mfg's released an upgraded version of the 945 chipset like this board that will support C2D. Earlier versions of the 945 did not support C2D. You will be limited to DDR2 PC5300 667 mhz. memory. The price is certailny good and the board will work (you may need a BIOS update though). Check on the MSI MFG product website to see what BIOS supports the E6750.

Have a look at the 965 boards. Better performance than the 945 board you chose. Also, you may have to go to P35 or X38 to get 'out of the box' support for that E6750.

Do not buy any 965 or other 9 series mobos, they are old tech and you may have serious problems getting your chip to work. It will probably require a BIOS upgrade if it works at all.

Get a P35 mobo only, they are specifically designed to work with your chip.

REMEMBER P35 MOBO!

Thanks Zorg. Anyone else have a good recommendation? I just looked at some reviews on the 965 and it was sub par about average.
