Will turbo boost help clocking speed of i7 processor

Hello,
I have an Alienware M15x and want PCSX2 to work without any audio or video lag, which I am facing currently, so heard from ppl that increasing the clocking speed will help as I have i7 processor Q820 currently running at 1.73GHz, so will turobosst help? ro do I increase the clocking speed from BIOS?

First, make sure your power settings are not lowering the speeds to save power. This typically is on by default on laptops when they are not plugged in.

As for the turbo mode, it should also be on by default. I would check the bios and see, but it will help somewhat. Traditional overclocking cannot typically be done on laptops, as heat is a serious concern for them.
