[SOLVED] Will upgrading from 8gb to 16gb RAM stop stuttering fully?

I experience tons of FPS drops and stutters in Fortnite. My PC is a budget build and i didn’t realise it wasn’t the best until a couple months after i got it. I’m going to upgrade mostly all my parts (More RAM, SSD, Then onto GPU and CPU)
I am wondering, will going from 8gb to 16gb RAM help with fixing stutters and drops?

My Specs (in case your wondering)

CPU: Ryzen 3 2300x
GPU: RX 570 4gb Sapphire
MoBo: MSI A320m-a-pro
RAM: 2x4gb
1TB HDD
PSU: CoolerMaster 500W MWE 230V

The first thing you need to do is change that PSU to something more reliably built, then address the matter of the stutter, since your current PSU is inadequate for your platform while having an RX 570 in the system. You should ideally have a 650W reliably built PSU for that platform if you want to have headroom. 550W if you're on a budget.

Most users do better with 16gb of ram.
Windows can keep code in ram available for instant reuse.
A true shortage of ram will show up as a hard fault.
That is where windows needs too swap in code from the drive.
Look in task manager resource monitor.
Under the memory tab, look to see if you are getting any meaningful hard faults per second.
More than 1/sec would indicate a ram shortage.
A page fault on a HDD is painful. It is some 40x longer than on a ssd.
I would highly recommend upgrading your windows C drive to a ssd.
A 1tb samsung evo will be about $110.
Migration is trivial using the samsung ssd migration aid.

Yeh, i’m just going to get 2x8gb sticks from amazon, and i will look to upgrade to an SSD too

Make certain that is a single matched kit of 2 x 8gb , two sticks of the same part number will not be matched and may not work properly.

I suggested samsung for a ssd upgrade not just for quality, but for ease of conversion.

You install the ssd in your pc, run the app which moves your C drive to the ssd.
Remove the hdd and boot.
Easy.

Yeh im probs gonna get a samsung evo one like 500gb or something. And yes im going to get a matched kit, im looking at the corsair vengeance pro rgb 2x8gb 3200mhz, would that be good?

How much of your 1tb HDD is actually used?
If a 500gb ssd can comfortably hold that, you can use the aid.
Otherwise, I suggest a 1tb ssd.
On memory, my link, for whatever reason gets you to the cpu support page.
You need to select the memory support for your processor, that will be the rx-2x000 section.
Older gen processors like yours will not support the highest of speeds.
Be careful and select an exact part number from the list.
There seem to be a limited number of kits that are 3200 speed.

Yes, 300gb used makes an easy conversion.
That said, consider paying $45 more for a 1tb version to give you plenty of capacity.
Of course, you can repurpose the HDD for expansion storage, but it is much easier to manage a single space.
Use the HDD as external backup.

ryzen 3600 will support higher speeds, but again check the ram qvl list for the combo of 3600 and motherboard
for documented support.

A 3600 upgrade can likely help with stuttering so that is not a bad move.
You may have to update your motherboard bios to run the 3600.
