Hi

Currently I have an old Samsung 250GB HDD. I was wondering if a new HDD will give me advantage over this one in gaming. In other words, Will it give me more FPS?

No, no HDD upgrade will give you better FPS.

Upgrading to a Solid State Hard drive would allow games with large maps to load faster, as well as windows and programs being much more responsive.

If you have a 5400rpm or an old ide hard drive then upgrading to a modern hard disk drive will increase general system performance but as stated it will do nothing to help FPS.

GPU, CPU, RAM in pretty much that order is what will help FPS.

Not necessarily.

Unless your drive is IDE standard, you won't notice any improvement in game performance. Even then, very slight.
A faster drive will basically allow for faster loading times, and game files being found quicker.

No point getting another new HDD. Get an SSD - you will notice a massive improvement in the general speed of your system ( not really in fps ) .
