Will USB wifi 3.0 can work at 2.0 and support 5ghz wifi ?

I'm going to buy an USB wifi (TP-Link), it support 3.0 and 2.0 but the thing is my motherboard only support 2.0. I know it will work but i'm not sure it can find the 5ghz wifi if only run USB 2.0? Or if i have to buy USB 3.0 adapter, can it run perfectly ?

So hope you guys help me.

If it's a dual band wifi adaptor and you have a dual band router, then it should work, no problems
