Hi. I have a Realme 7 which supports dart charging however it came with a custom plug for Dart Charging and a USB - USB C charger that could handle dart charging. I do know however in both Charging and Data transfer that USB C is generally faster however will:
1: buying a USB C - USB C charging cable
and
2: using a USB C charging plug
both not the ones originally provided by Realme damage or in some way reduce the battery lifespan?
I have heard of cases where some dodgy chargers or chargers which fitted the charging port but charged too fast damaged some devices.

It's not "charging too fast" that damages things because the charge rate is controlled by the phone. It's noisy power and even spikes when the poorly regulated charger tries to deliver more current than its componentry is able to, that kills the phone. Some are so poorly designed that they can even kill you. We've known about this for ten years, and you should really look at the teardowns. A pretty good list of tested chargers is here.

Any high quality charger (and most phones come with a very good one) will do fine.
