Will using HDMI stress a graphics card?

Hi everyone,
I know for a fact that HDMI connection also carries audio information along with video, and I'm wondering if this will lead to a performance drop in terms of the graphics rendering capability if I use the card to a monitor with a built-in speaker

Nowhere near as much as a 3D game.

nothing at all. It just runs through to the cable and that is it. Has nothing to do with how the card renders games, the card is just a way to get to the cable.
