Will using Wireless USB adaptor make my internet faster?

Currently I am only getting 2-3mbps, 6/7 when it is wired connection. I have just seen a wireless USB adaptor which says it can go up to 300mbps for a very cheap price. If I buy this will I get that 300mbps?
