Is vs450w enough to power gtx 960?
I will not overclock

or evga 500b? just to be sure?

I'm on a really tight buget so please help

Solution
The vs450w will be fine, a gtx960 can only have a maximum draw of 150w with a single pcie 6pin connector, that leaves @300w for the rest of the system. You'll have anywhere from @75w to @150w worth of headroom depending on your cpu.

Just understand this though, the VS series is bottom of the barrel when it comes to Corsair's psu's, so please try not to push the wattage to extremes.

Pardon me because I'm really a beginner. what I mean is
Will the Psu will not overheat or the gpu cause I dont have any case fans.

And that is vs450w good for 2-3 yrs lifespan for gtx 960 and i3 2100 and 8gbs of ram

thanks again pal.

Okay so I guess I'll by two fans.. by " try not to push the wattage to extremes." do you mean that I wont be able overclock? cause I will not overclock or If I upgraded in the future for some z97 mobo and intel i5 4th gen series Am I pushing it too the limit?

The psu is the single most overlooked but important component in any pc. It directly attaches to and affects every other component. You may or may not be able to OC, depends on your current setup, and guessing wattage isn't difficult as each cpu has a set wattage, my i5-3570K is 77w for example, and a good OC can double that.

If you take the time to do a little research, you'll see that basically you shouldn't push your psu past @80-90% load for any length of time, so if your entire system including loads for high game usage/high cpu usage are taking you past @400w, its time to look into a stronger psu.

Only OC if you have a cooler to match, stock coolers are in no way designed to absorb the kinds of heat created by OC wattage.

A good quality 500-550w psu is cheap insurance by comparison to user abuse from OC on a 430w psu thats too small to handle the load. Fair warning.
