Will Windows 7 install use 4 cores?

I'm buying a rig that is quad core. AMD PII 3.0GHZ (not sure which number).
And with 4 or 6GB of memory.
And just cheap 1TB HDD.

How long would you except my rig to install W7?

The hard drive speed will be the limited factor. I'd be very surprised if it takes more than 30 minutes for the basic install, and probably more like 20.

yeah thats pretty much it.....HDD speed is most important.....installs are not memory intensive....its mostly getting the HDD set up correctly

agreed, Win 7 fresh install is quick and easy, it'll be limited to the hard drive speeds, which should be ok with a 1TB hard drive... i'm calling out 27 minutes total, any takers???

My W7 RC 32 bit install took 17 minutes on a E6600 2.4 Ghz WD 250 GB with 3GB ram.

I would expect it to be finished in under 10 mins.
