Will Windows 7 Motherboard Drivers Work On Windows 8.1?

So, I have an ASUS M5A78L-MLX motherboard. I want to upgrade my OS to Windows 8.1 but there aren't any chipset drivers available for Windows 8.1. I wanna know if Windows 7 chipset drivers will work on Windows 8.1.

Or is it just fine to run the OS without chipset drivers?

This motherboard have win 8.1 between supported os, so those drivers that aren't in driver support will be probably already present in windows 8. And no, you cant use win 7 drivers and yes, it will run without chipset drivers, just some features could be missing if there aren't drivers. Btw, if you have win 7 legally, why you don't make free upgrade to win 10?

@Mister_MO I don't want to upgrade to win 10 because of the privacy issues.

Raid support, some power saving states could be missing too, few usb and sata ports, lan or audio connected via chipset can have problems, but you wont know unless you install it.
