I believe Windows 7 UltimateN is a UK edition? I would have gotten windows 7 home premium for my PC, but my uncle gave me this for free which I could not pass down. I was just wondering, since windows 10 will be a free upgrade for a year on windows 7 and 8 devices, will the UltimateN version also be able to upgrade for free?

hey guys, im new to this upgrading thing. i have windows 7 32-bit, will i be able to upgrade to windows 10 64-bit or does it have to be 32-bit again? also when it says upgrade does it mean everything on my hdd will still be intact and unchanged? or does it mean its going to install windows 10 fresh and i lose everything? thank you!

32bit to 64bit is a full reinstall. Win 7, 8, 10, whatever.
Full wipe and reinstall.

thanks for the quick answer, what about windows 7 32-bit to windows 10 32-bit? is this also full wipe and fresh install?

one more question, can i use a win10 upgrade on a different computer? im on windows 7 right now, if i build a new computer at the end of the year can i use this computers free windows 10 upgrade on the new computer i build? thank you!

1. You can probably 'upgrade' from Win 7 32bit to Win 1032bit. Not recommended, though.

2. Probably not. So far, MS has said that you can upgrade from Win 7 and 8.x to Win 10. This does not grant you two licenses for two PC's...the old Win 7 and a new Win10.

thanks, i wouldn't use this computers upgrade for this machine, i would leave windows 7 on here and use the one new license for my new pc. that's what i meant, sorry it wasn't clear.

Right. But you purchased one license...the original Win 7.
Getting the upgrade to Win 10 does not equal two valid licenses.

We'll have to see the final deal from MS, but I doubt what you seek will be the case.

For people who want to clean install 10, MS would probably give a download page where you can put your 7 key in and download a 10 ISO. But this will probably deactivate your 7 license.
