will windows work

i am building a system with 768 meg ram, and it was mentioned windows has problems with that much, or i should say over 512. is windows the os to use or should i find another os, and would it be compatible w/my games devices? is there is fix for this? plz advz

Windows98 will become unstable. I think you'll be okay with WinME but it will only access 512. Now Windows 2000 professional can handle up to 2gigs of memory.
