Someone told me that the asrock mobo will not read x4 sticks of 8gb ram. Is that true?

I really want 32gb ram, shall I buy x2 16gb ddr4 3000mhz patriot sticks?

Solution
You should buy 2x16GB. Your Ryzen CPU only has a two channel memory controller. The optimum memory configuration is two DIMMs.
Four DIMMs might only clock to 2133 or 2666 rather than 2933 (3000). If you buy four DIMMs you need to buy a SET of four, not two sets of two.

So two sets of one of this: 16gb ddr4 3000mhz patriot would work right? I'm just being paranoid thanks for the answer

There is NO GUARANTEE that two sets of DIMMs will play nice together. The reason manufacturers sell SETS of four DIMMs is that they have been tested as a set and are guaranteed to work as a set. IMO, don't buy two sets of memory and expect them to work together. Either buy a set of four or buy two 16GB DIMMs. My recommendation is two 16GB DIMMs.
