Will Xbox 720 support XIM3?

I am thinking about getting a XIM3 which lets you use keyboard and mouse on the Xbox 360 and I was wondering, in the next gen consoles, will it be supported? I don't want to waste my cashmonies on something that will only last a year. The XIM3 uses a wired 360 controller, in other words, will the 720 be backwards compatible with 360 controllers?
