Win 10 and Win 7 on two drives

I have just got an SSD which has Win 10 on it and I still have my HDD with Win 7 on it. If I have both drives plugged in and have the computer set to boot from the SSD first, will I be able to access the files from the HDD and run applications from the HDD as I run Win 10?

How large is the SSD? You can do the dual boot but it will take some work. I would recommend having both Windows 7 and Windows 10 on the SSD if the drive is large enough.

With both drives attached you'd be able to access the files from the Win7 drive while running Win10. However the programs installed on the Win7 drive would not be available to you running on the Win10 drive.

Does that mean I should save all my files from the Win 7 drive then format it and reinstall the programs onto it so I can save space on my SSD?

Yeah if you dont need to worry about runing a dual boot OS or something then you might as well just pull the files you need off the Win7 drive and then reformat it and turn it in to a storage drive.
