Question Boot times still slow with newly installed SSD

Hello everyone,

I have a laptop (Acer Aspire F5-573T running Windows 10) and I elected to swap out the hdd with an ssd to speed things up a bit. I followed some videos and ended up cloning the drive to the ssd using a Sata to usb 3.0 cable and Mini Partition tool software. However, after installing the ssd, the boot times are still incredibly slow. My programs and apps seem to be speedier however, so I’m confused as to what should be done. I still have my old hdd and haven’t wiped it or anything.

Should I do a reinstall of windows to the ssd? Or wipe the ssd and try a different way to transfer files? My goal is to keep everything as the laptop is my daily driver at the moment. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Edit; I should also add that I noticed in the period of time the laptop takes to start up (after user sign in screen) I get a black screen which persists until the laptop is ready to go.
