So I was Windows insider for quite a while on fast ring and my pc started acting strangely 1 build ago. Basically my pc would sometimes freeze completely while playing cs:go. I just hoped it will be fixed in the next build, but it got even worse that it would even freeze sometimes while the pc was just idling. I got enough of this crap and decided to install a fresh copy of Windows (non insider build). After taking multiple hours reinstalling all the apps and updating windows I finally booted a game... and my pc freezed again... and again. I'm now completely lost and maybe it's a problem with hardware? My temps are fine and when the pc freezes there's a sorta high pitched noise for 2 secs in my headphones, the mouse and kb stops responding and monitor just shows the last frame. Also my hdd led on case just stays off and I have to restart the pc.

I'm having the same issue, have you found a solution? Are you using an authentic version of windows?

I was on the newest insider build. Now I'm at the first official build. Putting RAM from 1 and 3 slots to 2 and 4 slots seems to have partially fixed the problem. I still had few freezes, but they were very rare and not when i'm gaming, strangely enough they only happened when I was at my desktop, when before it would mostly crash only when in-game. Reinstalling windows did pretty much nothing. Or I just had a placebo effect that putting ram in different slots helped, but you can try that also and report back :)

I ended up doing the same thing, switching the memory slots. It actually worked for me too lol... I've been reading this this could be a skylake processor issue.. do you have a skylake? i have an i7 6700k. I also reinstalled all the video / graphics drivers and performed a malwarebytes scan.

I actually have AMD FX 6300 cpu. Had this system for quite a while, always on fast insider build. After I changed the RAM slots I still experienced a few freezes when just browsing facebook or some other site, never in-game hovewer, so I can live with that
