im currently using R.A.T 7 and i've had these problems with my mouse for a while now.
I've tried to:
-Buy a new mouse
-reinstall drivers
-clean the mouse
-check pc for viruses

Solution
Going with the PC as the problem then the next step is to power off , open up the case and inspect all cables, connections, seatings etc.. Especially around the USB ports. Use a flashlight and a magnifying glass. Look inside the port openings for debris, bugs, anything that may be interferring with making a full connection.

Could be a short, cracked trace, loose wire - something causing mouse connectivity (no matter what mouse) to be interrupted but not necessarily fully disconnected.

Gently wiggle cables, components, plugs - everything should be snug and tight. Reseat, unplug and replug as much as you can. Especially anything that does not seem to be properly connected.

Any problems with other devices connected to the same USB port that was used by the mouse/mice?

Two mice failing would indicate a problem the computer or the connection port. Did you try other USB ports?

Try the mice on another computer to confirm.

Are you using some sort of USB hub - especially an unpowered one?

Do some additional testing to eliminate either the computer, the port, or the mouse as the source of the problem.

i've tried switching usb ports and i had the same problem on another mouse so im sure its a problem with the pc not the mouse.
