Hi,
I have installed Win 10 on my desktop PC,which has 4 GB of RAM,but only 3,25 of them are usable, because the windows page file uses 1389 MB of the 4 gigs!

How can I make all of the 4 GB be used?

Please help me!
Thanks in advance!
Best regards!

Solution
1) Pagefile has nothing to do with how much system memory is accessible.

2) Either it's a SOFTWARE issue, or else you have 32-bit Windows 10.

With 32-bit you have a 4GB memory map. The amount you describe only makes sense if the VRAM on the graphics card (or onboard usage) is about 512MB. If that's the case then there's not much you can do.

3) If you have 64-bit Windows then type in "msconfig" launch that and go to BOOT-> Advanced Options.

Try changing the "Maximum memory" there to I guess 4096MB.

Solution
as for ADDING memory then I agree in general, though for light usage 4GB is plenty. My dad's laptop does okay with 2GB for light browsing and e-mail. With 4GB I've played games on another computer with good CPU and GTX680 GPU.

To be able to have 8GB total you need:
a) 64-bit Windows, and
b) MOTHERBOARD that can handle 8GB total. It must not only be the right TYPE of memory but also not exceed the amount PER SLOT. My really old PC was 1GB per slot with x4 slots so it could only handle 4GB in total.
