[SOLVED] Win 10 programs default save folder (not default drive)

Settings/Storage only allows me to choose which drive apps save to by default. But programs (not MS apps) are not saving to the folder I want by default. Instead of saving to the last used folder from Save As they revert to something else entirely. They never did this before. If I don't pay attention, my files dissapear!

Can't I set image file types to always go to an image folder, and ditto docs, and so on?

Ah, Microsoft. Not sure how long you have been a Windows user, but it used to be a lot worse. Most apps have an option in settings, or something similar, that let you select the default location, but it various from program to program. Each program will need to be set individually if you don't like the default, and there is no "go here for all programs." This isn't an Apple or Android device where all saves for all programs are in pre-determined location.
