Does the Win 10 Recovery/Remove Everything/default settings wipe the free space? On a SSD as well as a HDD?
I have searched online for answers and have found both confusing and contradictory answers.

Nothing other than dedicated drive wiping software actually wipes or scrambles a previously used disk drive.

Reformatting only marks everything as "ready for use" but the old bits and bytes are still on that drive unless you've run wiper software to wipe/scramble them.
