So recently I have been noticing a couple hickups on my PC. All of which started happaning after my Ubuntu duel boot, but I will get to that later. Lately when I get on my PC uk browse and stuff and then get off the shut down button doesn't work, like at all. It will make my screen blanck, change the 2 digit code on my mobo and just stay on, while maintaing that code

Normal code:AA
This code: 00

My specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/mRPBD8

I know it is not a hardware related issue because when I do the same thing in Ubuintu it works fine. Another funny thing is when I hard turn off, like hold the power button and turn back on, it gives me an overclocking failed message. Then I proceed to go F1 into bios, do nothing, and boot into windows fine. I wouldn't be to concerned and I wasn't but this seems like a real issue that I may have caused while installing Ubuntu. I did it the proper way, as I have all linux duel boots but after this one all this stuff happened, well started.

Any ideas? Solutions? I don't overclock my hardware but my RAM has an XMP profile whichs gets it to 2800, from the factory mind u. Anyways any help would be nice!

Not sure if this is the issue, but in windows 10, when you tell the computer to shut down... it doesnt actually shut down. By default, the OS goes into hibernation mode, instead of turning off the computer. So when microsoft boasts that windows 10 loads so quickly, its basically a lie. Its not that it loads quickly, its that by default it never actually turns off. You can fix this in the power settings.

It goes into a very low power state though, but not all motherboards/CPUs/PSUs support that.

Alright so the weird power off issue went away when Ubuntu wasn't in the BCD but once I placed it back it came back. I have never seen this in any other duel boot I have done. Its like an on/off switch. I'll consult some other Ubuntu users unless u guys know more :p

Yeah, it's quite possible Ubuntu doesn't support the low power states.
