Hi everyone,

I have a Dell Optiplex 9020 with Windows 7 32bit installed and Imation Expert M250 1TB external drive which is a USB 3.0 drive. The Dell has 4 USB 3.0 ports, two in front and two in the back.

Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller and USB 3.0 Root Hub drivers are installed by default as you can see in the attached pic.

But when I connect the Imation to any of the USB 3.0 ports it works as USB 2.0.

Anybody knows what the problem is and how to resolve it?

Thank you in advance.

Sometimes in order to use the full speed provided by usb ports of the system and mother board.
You may have to enter the bios setup of your mother board, where you may find the option to enable usb 3.0 super speed to get any device to recognize the usb port it`s self is usb 3.0 capable Showmak.

So have a good look around the motherboards bios setup options menus.

Thank you for you input, yes I checked the bios and it was enabled. I just had to update the Dell drivers.
