Win 7 desktop folder and hdd folder doesn't show images but thumbnails

I'm experiencing this kind of problem. both my external hdd and my desktop folder. inside my folder, when i double click it to open it show thumbnails instead of pictures.

That's a Windows preference setting, no?
Can you not just Right Click in that folder to bring up your option?
Choose 'View' and select what ever you prefer. I like List view for everything.

I've tried this option

Still it wont show pictures , after I'd unchecked it.

I think you need to rebuild the cache, there is a limit on how many images it will store to be displayed like that.

I *think* that is the issue here as I had it happen a lot on Vista because the limit was lower. Check out this short guide here: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10797-thumbnail-cache-clear-reset.html and let us know if it works, just restart the PC after following the steps.

Hi again. Just curious. Will reformat and reinstall Windows will reset back everything to normal?
