Trying to (clean) install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit in a system with XFX MI-A78S-8209 mobo using on-board graphics controller (GeForce 8200). After booting from DVD, I get the "copying files" message followed by the "Starting Windows" screen with the Windows logo. After that, it fails to properly display the next screen, which is a graphical one. It is just a jumbled mess. This leads me to believe there is a problem with the graphics drivers on the DVD, or that the setup is not using the correct one.

If I had a PCI graphics card I would try that, but unfortunately I do not. Any other ideas?

Try downloading the iso image from microsoft, and creating a bootable usb drive with that iso image, you can do that with rufus:

Tried that, still no workie.

Borrowed a graphics card from a friend and Win 7 installed fine. Then removed the card. When Win 7 rebooted, it somehow found the correct graphics driver and is working fine. Very strange!
