Win 7 problem with device manager

Hello,
I have removed two printers from my Win-7 system and the device manager will not finish scanning. I moved the printers over to a print server and I would like to connect to them but cann't due to the device manager never finishing scanning. (my system is Win7 Ultimate/CPU I7-2600k@3.4GHz/Asus MOBO P8P67/16 GB Corsir ram @ 1333 MHz/300GB WD VelociRaptor HD/Graphics GeForce GTX 560 TI w/ 2GB GDDR)

The device manager doesn't show printers and will not scan for devices across a network. If your device manager is getting hung, it's not on the printer but on some other device.

Are they on the network or wireless or USB?
