WIN 7 randomly crashes with blue screen

Hi Guys,

I need help with my newly built PC. It randomly restarts with blue screen doing some dump. When it's over and restarts, sometimes it happens again in loop but sometimes after several minutes like crazy. It's a new build and i don't have a lot of drivers and software installed yet. i've tried to reinstall WIN 7 premium 3 times and still does the same. I will upload a screenshtot when it happens again but can someone tell me the basics of troubleshooting before going to complex? My Asrock board comes with a lot of drivers that i think it might be causing the problem. Thanks a lot!

Asrock Z68/Usb3
4G 2x2G G.Skill Ripsaw
Samsung DVD/R OEM
HEC Cougar RS 550W
WIN 7 Home premium

No GPU and Soundcard yet.

Try turning the multiplier in the Bio's to locked.

I had that issue once.

Try another RAM stick, or use only 1 and use mem test and test the RAM.

1) Update bios(if possible)

2) Clear Cmos, do this if you cant start or have messed with the bios (don’t forget to unplug the computer from the wall and let it sit for few minutes, if you don’t have a jumper than remove the battery make sure the computer is unplugged and let it for about10 minutes before putting the battery back in)

3) Check your psu

4) Make sure your computer is hooked up correctly

5) Run memtest(if possible)

6) Run Burnintest (if possible)

7) If all else fails then try a gpu, Ram, or psu from another computer

also it sounds like an issue maybe with your hdd run the windows disk check... how too-
start menu
computer
right click on your main drive mine is C:
properties
tools
"Error-Checking"
Check now

also defrag it and run the full scan with the error check which you will have to restart your computer

Thanks for the reply. I noticed it indicates error messages everytime it crashes into blue screen.

BAD_POOL_ERROR
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

These 2 are the notorious ones. I ran memory test and it seems fine. I unticked the non-microsoft drivers for start up and same error. However, I can make it work on Safe mode. IMO, possibly not the PSU. but you people are the experts so let me know.

Just to add: I updated all drivers thru Win 7 update, my rig seems to be working fine for hours now. Could it be that simple??? I was updating it like this before i re-installed the OS but it was crashing still...

If it happens again, I'll try the list by Panicmaster85 and update the thread. TIA

Update...

updated Bios with no luck. Ran out of patience so I run memtest86+. It was hardware after all. 1 of the RAM sticks was bad. the other 1 passed 7 times with no single error. Can i realy on this test 100%? I didn't realize G.Skill is this bad..
