win 7 recovery

Son installed new copy of win 7. I wish to reinstall original. No disk. I have recovery media and win7 code on bottom of laptop. Will it bring pc back to factory specs?

Yes, recovery discs will restore the original factory-installed OS - - and you won't be asked to enter the Product Key anyway when doing a factory recovery because it's an OEM pre-activated version.

One word of caution, if you've got any important documents, photos or videos etc on your laptop's hard drive, copy them to a different location first (eg to an external hard drive) because the factory recovery process will overwrite them.
